| What method of payment do you accept? We take Mastercard, Visa, and Discover on-line, over the phone, or in the store. In addition, we take personal checks, traveler's checks in the store or through the mail. How long will my package take? Most orders leave our store within two days after the order is placed. Travel time for standard shipping varies depending on how close you are to us. Kansas City customers will have their packages very quickly, while those in Seattle may take up to five shipping days once the parcel leaves here. Keep in mind that these are shipping days--Saturday and Sunday do not count for UPS, and Sunday does not count for postal shipments. Do you have a printed catalog? Yes. One catalog is Knitting, one is Weaving, Spinning & Dyeing, and one is Victorian Video. Use the Catalog Request feature on the web site to order. Do I want my skeins wound into balls? Some skeins are packaged in ready-to-use pull skeins while others are in reeled hanks that must be wound into balls before use. For all but very fine weight yarns or very slippery yarns, we are happy to wind the skeins for you free of charge. However, we do not accept returns on any hanks that have been wound into balls. If you prefer to wind the skeins yourself, we do sell swifts and ball winders. (See Weaving Accessories.) We will assume, unless you tell us otherwise, that you prefer that your skeins not be wound. If you do want them to be wound, please indicate on the order page. Are sample cards available? Sample cards, with real snips of yarn, are available for most of our weaving yarns. These are noted with "sample card available" under the yarn description. These cards cost $1.75 per yarn line or $18.00 per complete set. The sample card lists fiber content, sett, and yardage and shows snips of all of the solid colors that we carry in that yarn line. Variegated colors are not included, as they are too difficult to sample accurately in a short length. For those of you who fondly remember our knitting yarn sample cards, alas, they are no more. The knitting yarn color lines change too frequently to make sample cards possible. |
